“What is this Orff Thing?”
Orff
Schulwerk is an approach to teaching music which involves the
teacher and students as co-creators in the music classroom.
The Teacher is a guide, ready to allow the students to have
control of the process where and when it is possible.
The curriculum is based on the development of these
skills with the labeling of the concept following the
experience and experimentation of the music.
Lessons are organized in this way:
1. speech
2. rhythm
3. melody building
4. instrument and vocal technique
5. harmony
6. movement
7. improvisation with all of the above
Each Lesson involves the
integration of these skills:
|
- Speech
- Singing
- Movement/ Dancing
- Instrument Playing
- Reading
- Creating
- Listening
