BLOOMIN' OUTBACK DINNER SHOW
at Perkins

sponsored by

1900 4th. Street N., St. Petersburg

Once again, Outback Steakhouse has generously donated dinners to help Perkins raise money to support the arts at our school. Outback will serve a meal of steak, chicken, baked potato, sautéed mushrooms, caesar salad and dessert.

We have two seatings for dinner in the Perkins Multipurpose Room where diners will enjoy a fabulous Outback meal:

  • 5:30 PM

  • 6:30 PM

Meanwhile, Perkins students will be performing in the Al Dowling Theatre at Perkins, with performances at:

  • 5:30 PM

  • 6:40 PM

You may choose to go to the performance in the theatre first and then eat dinner, or eat first and then enjoy the show.

  • All tickets for dinner and entertainment are $20.00, with the entire amount of your ticket going to the Perkins Magnet Enrichment.

  • New this year: You may share a dinner (with your child or two children share) for an additional $1.00 charge. (This covers an additional place setting and drink.) If sharing a plate and attending the show, you will need to purchase a performance-only ticket for the additional person.

  • Tickets are also available for just the performance in the theatre for $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children.

Perkins Elementary is like no other school in the world. Won't you join us at Bloomin' Outback for another wonderful event to benefit the arts at Perkins!

The numbers are in from our last two fund raiser events

The Grade A Talent show in November raised $930.00. Thanks to all who helped make this a successful evening.

The Barnes & Noble night along with the Chick-fil-A sales raised $830.00. Thanks to all that participated in this fun event.

So far this year, PME has been able to purchase headphones for the Spanish lab and six new steel drums for the bass section of the steel drum band, as well as set aside scholarship money for school instrument rental.

We have also contracted with the Florida Studio Theater to bring their Play Writers' Workshop to our students in January 2008.

We hope you feel proud that your efforts are contributing to the enrichment of our students’ arts education. Don’t forget we have our new Perkins magnets and clings for sale. If you cannot purchase one from our magnet office, please fill out the form below and send it in to school with your child. The magnets and clings are not just great for your car but also on the kids laptops, decorations for their room, refrigerator for all those notes you need to keep track of and many more uses.

Magnets $3.00 each or 2 for $5.00
Clings $2.00 each or 2 for $3.00

Perkins 6th Annual

Night

November 29

This annual PME fundraiser, featured a small ensemble of Perkins faculty and students who performed while you relax and shop the evening away. A percentage of our total sales for the evening will go directly to PME. There will be children's book readings by Mr. Lister and Mrs. Archibald, as well as drama skits and musical serenades by Perkins focus students, make the evening a special Perkins event.

PME arranged a Perkins' Spirit Night at the Tyrone Chick-fil-A Restaurant, located adjacent to the Barnes and Noble on Tyrone Boulevard. A portion of the evening's receipts from Perkins' customers at this Chick-fil-A also went to PME.

PME 4th Bi-Annual Grade “A” Talent Show
November 15

The Grade “A” Talent Show featured the faculty, staff and parents of our Perkins family. It is one of PME’s best fundraisers.

FLORIDA STUDIO THEATER’S WRITE-A-PLAY TOUR:  What a way to start 2008!  On Monday, January 7, 2008, THE PLAYMAKERS will take our third through fifth graders on an exciting journey of the imagination. Professional actors engage the students in a high energy show designed to motivate students to write plays. The students offer ideas and together the audience and actors create plays. These playwriting workshops have resulted in Perkins’ students’ submitted plays to win awards.  What a way to foster the joy of literacy and the power of language!

OUTBACK NIGHT:  Coming in 2008 and we are already excited!  A night to remember!  Our children will perform on stage in the theater and you won't want to miss it. What to do for dinner?  NO worries, mate... Outback restaurant will be here to serve us our dinner.  What a blast!

THOMAS BRUCE PHOTOS:  This well known studio come to Perkins in April 2008 and will capture wonderful photos of your child while enjoying some of the special programs at Perkins.  Whether it's dance, art, playing an instrument, or more, you can have beautiful pictures of your child doing what they love best!  And to think this is a fundraiser...what a great way to benefit both your family and our school.

FUNSET TO SUNSET:  Like no other celebration, our ENTIRE school heads to the beach on the last day of school to enjoy the company of Perkins friends and families, teachers, and staff. Eat, play, and socialize before we kick back for the summer.  ALWAYS a memory our children will NEVER forget!

Target Takes Charge of Education

We've discovered a terrific way to raise funds for our school. It's super-easy, and all you have to do is use your Target® Visa® or Target® Card. We will receive a percentage of the amount of each purchase in the form of a cash donation from Target through the Take Charge of Education® program.

It's easy. Just visit target.com/tcoe, or call 1-800-316-6142 to designate our school.

So if you're going to Target anyway, please consider using your Target® Visa® or Target® Card. Big thanks to those who are already doing their part to make a great school even better.

Find out how much money our school has already received at target.com/tcoe

Grandparents, alumni, neighbors and friends can take part, too.
