Strings is That Thing You Do at Perkins!
Hello! My name is Sharon Greco. I am the string orchestra teacher at Perkins Elementary. I teach all the string instruments grades 1-5. Here at Perkins, all first and second grade students learn Suzuki violin. There is also upper level string classes offered for all the string instruments. Students also have the choice to play viola and cello starting in 3rd grade and string bass in 4th grade. A premier group here at Perkins is the Perkins Fiddlers who perform in the surrounding community. This is an audition group that meets after school and is offered to 4th and 5th grade advanced string players. I have been a music teacher in Pinellas County for ten years and have worked extensively with All County Orchestra for the last several years as well as being a member of the Pinellas County Music Educators Association, Florida Music Educators Association, Music Educators National Conference and The American String Teachers Association. I love teaching orchestra and guiding students as they blossom into fine young orchestra players! Return |
