Perkins parents, teachers and students came together on Saturday, October 1 for a labor of love – laying the brick walkway in the Dylan Crane Memorial Garden. Volunteer workers, including our own Bob Lister, Richard Ninis, and Pat Archibald, were led by James Borycens, owner of Exteriors by James and a past Perkins parent. James donated his time and expertise to the project.
Twenty-plus parents (led by Carole Crane), Mr. Lister, Mr. Ninis, Ms. Archibald, several of Dylan Crane’s teachers, and a bunch of amazingly strong students dug and hoisted, worked and sweat, and got really dirty. The job took 3 hours and what a finished product! Go Team Perkins! Several of the bricks are engraved with student and teacher names. More engraved bricks will be placed this year. Carole Crane, Dylan's (and student Samantha's) mom planned the space to be a beautiful and serene resting spot, a place to close your eyes and dream. If you are interested in purchasing an engraved brick to be placed in the garden walkway, the cost is $25. Call Julie Graves at 577-4752. Dylan Crane Butterfly Release at the Fall Festival

More pictures WHEN I GROW UP By DYLAN CRANE What do I want to do in the arts when I grow up? I want to do it all!!! I love all types of music, singing, dance, art, computer graphics, video productions and acting. I guess that if I learn as much as I can about all the arts, then that would make me a good director and producer for filmmaking and theater. The theater would be great because of all the singing dancing, acting and set designs. Making movies would be fun with the camera work, film editing, computer animations and sound productions. It would be so exciting to be a filmmaker, producer, or director because I could travel all over the world and meet all kinds of interesting people. The best thing about my job would be it would never be boring. |
